New Balance Gives the XC-72 an All-Black Makeover
Yours for $135 USD.

New Balance‘s XC-72 is one of those sneakers that wears color well — “Storm Blue,” “Bone/Multi,” and a sportscars of Monaco-inspired Casablanca iteration all come to mind — but now the colorful pair has found its dark side with the release of an all-black version.
The XC-72 is inspired by the speculative technologies and concept cars from the ’70s, and as a result, it serves a retro-futuristic aesthetic infused with New Balance signatures. The sole unit is the most daring part of the shoe, featuring a high profile front quarter alongside a heel that sticks out at the rear with an extra bumper adorning the rear-quarter perimeter.
Elsewhere, we find the monochromatic pair sporting a suede and nylon mesh upper that comes together for something lightweight yet typical of New Balance’s identity. A large “N” emblem appears in the mid-panel, while the nylon tongue rounds out this minimal pair.
Take a look at the New Balance XC-72 “Black” above, and pick up the pair from Aphrodite1994 now for just £99 GBP (approximately $135 USD).
