SZA Releases Music Video for "Nobody Gets Me"
The reflective visual shows the R&B singer crooning on an NYC rooftop.
SZA stans are rejoicing today because her highly-anticipated sophomore album SOS has finally hit streaming services. And to excite the fans even further, the R&B artist has released a brand new music video for “Nobody Gets Me.”
Track 14 is a moody number and tells the story of SZA reflecting on a past lover. The visual is simple and essentially shows her crooning on the top of a building somewhere in New York City as she rocks baggy jeans, a graphic tee, a trucker hat that bears an upside-down smiley face and a New York Jets leather jacket. “How am I supposed to let you go / only like myself when I’m with you / nobody gets me you do,” she sings about a partner that made her feel at home whenever they were around. The entire just-over-three-minute clip is shot entirely in black and white which complements the tune’s somber theme.
It hasn’t been 24 hours since SOS has been out, but loyal followers of SZA have already been giving her flowers for creating an emotional and candid body of work. She has confirmed that a deluxe version is on the way, so expect to see more music roll out in the coming months.
In case you missed it, SZA has been tapped to headline Hangout Festival in 2023.
