Designed and debuted online by the Instagram account @AI_ClothingDaily, which is run by @luckynumber.8, the AI-generated Nikes have since taken over TikTok and Instagram design pages with many using the platform to not just share the images, but comment on the designs.
Each pair takes a familiar Nike silhouette — such as the Air Force 1 and the Vapormax — and gives it a lace-centric, intricate makeover. Some fans have likened it to an imaginary Simone Rocha collaboration, while others note the incredibly abilities that AI beholds. Regardless, we find pairs like the “Vapormax” stacked with double-bubble Air sole units, sitting pretty alongside dainty crochet flowers, woven plastic lace-like uppers, and silky laces.
An Air Force 1-inspired pair arrives in pink sporting a similar lace structure, while another take looks similar to the Air Max 97, arriving in blush pink with roses adorning the Nike Swoosh emblem and rope laces that seem to be from a ballet pump. Ensuring one knows that these are indeed computer generated, all of the designs feature “branding” in gibberish, while touches like the AF1 branding on the sole unit no longer reads as so.
