The adidas COS fomQUAKE Is the adiFOM Q's Rusty Chemical Formula-Inspired Sibling

adidas might have parted ways with a certain controversial rapper, but the influence of their work remains strong within the Three Stripes’ identity — encouraging the brand to release the adiFOM Q, and now the adidas COS fomQUAKE.
While structurally and visually identical to the adiFOM Q, the COS fomQUAKE earns its name from new aesthetic touches derived from the colorways and chemicals. Debuting in “Craoch/Wilbrn” or “Blurus/Legink” offerings, the colorways range from a rusty vibe to a blue marble-like effect.
Either way, each gives the silhouette a rugged, utilitarian attitude that differs from the adiFOM Q’s pristine streetwear-leaning design. Here, it looks as if the shoes have been aged, worn, left to fester to grow drips of paint down the sides, or worn out so that black reveals itself through the orange and blue tones.
However, what remains with these two offerings are elements like the plush, cushioned adiPLUS sole unit — which is branded on the heel alongside the Trefoil logo — and the neoprene sock interior that can be removed. Laces, a Trefoil stamp on the tongue, and chemical symbols from the periodic table also on the tongue round these divisive pairs off.
adidas’ duo of COS fomQUAKEs will drop on December 20 at select retailers worldwide, such as Overkill and HBX, costing €119 EUR each (approx. $126 USD). Take a closer look at them above.
