Porsche Design Readies the Chronograph 1 – GP 2023 Edition for Upcoming GP Ice Race

Gearing up for the fourth GP Ice Race, Porsche Design has revealed a special Chronograph 1 – GP 2023 Edition timepiece, designed to commemorate the event.
The collaboration between the two stems from a shared heritage, as Zell am See is home to both the GP Ice Race and Porsche Design. Speaking on the collaborative timepiece, Ferdi Porsche said, “It has become a very distinctive chronograph that takes me back to my roots.” He elaborated that it’s “Always on my wrist, the timeless design is the perfect companion for any style, any occasion, and on any day. The special thing about it is that motorsport enthusiasts immediately recognize the story behind it.”
Based on Porsche Design’s iconic Chronograph 1, the GP 2023 Edition comes with the model’s identifiable features — from the fluorescent Super-LumiNova® hour indices, contrasting matte-black dial, and white hands to the seven-fold anti-reflective and scratch-resistant sapphire crystal. Powered by a highly precise, COSC-certified WERK 01.240 movement with flyback function, the watch also boasts a sleek and sturdy 40.8mm uncoated silver titanium case. Two different bracelets are also offered, one comes in a modern white color with the emblematic GP badge, and the other a classic black made of fine leather complete with a tonal titanium folding clasp.
Porsche Design’s Chronograph 1 – GP 2023 Edition watch is priced at $9,650 USD in a limited production of 250 units. Each piece is also encased in a black box as well as a laser-engraved acrylic plaque. Launching on January 11, the watch is available for pre-order in-store and online at Porsche Design’s website and Hodinkee.
