Following the success of Hellbound, Train to Busan director Yeon Sang-ho is now back with the first trailer for another Netflix film titled Jung_E. The movie will feature the final performance from popular actress Kang Soo-yeon who died ahead of the film’s release due to a stroke.

The South Korean sci-fi movie is set in the post-apocalyptic 22nd century in which climate change has rendered the world uninhabitable, forcing humans to live in a man-made shelter where civil war rages on. In an effort to end the war, the team leader of the research institute Kronoid Lab, Seohyun (Kang Soo-yeon), and the institute head Sang-Hoon (Ryu Kyung-soo) clone the brain of a heroic soldier in an effort to create the most advanced A.I. combat warrior. The A.I. played by Kim Hyun-joo is named Jung_E.

Sang-ho’s sci-fi film Jung_E will release via Netflix on January 20, 2023. Take a look at the trailer above.

Elsewhere in entertainment, James Gunn officially addresses the DC recasting backlash.
