When it comes to collaborative footwear projects, one realm that adidas has often tapped into is food & beverages. The German sportswear imprint has aligned with the likes of AriZona Beverage Company, M&Ms and Waffle House to produce delectable shoe team-ups, and now it’s tapping Howlin’ Rays — the popular Nashville hot chicken restaurant based in Los Angeles — to cook up a fiery adidas Campus 80s installment.

Most of the upper half of these sneakers are covered in neutral tones, and this allows the fiery accents and food-inspired elements to stand out. Red hot hits are applied to the Three Stripe branding, laces and interior liners, all of which likely represent the food destination’s spicy tenders and sandwiches that customers salivate over. The lateral heels split their branding between “Howlin’” on the left shoe and “Ray’s” on the right, both of which are formulated with red and white checkered lettering. Golden lace deubres also call out the foodie spot’s moniker while its signature chicken logo is crafted into a hangtag. In addition, the bottoms are made see-through so that you can point out the Howlin’ Rays branding that resides inside of them.

Check out a detailed look at the offering above, and note that retailers like Asphalt Gold will be dropping these on January 1 for €119 (approx. $126 USD).

In case you missed it, adidas has announced that it is “re-evaluating” its Partnership with Balenciaga.
