See How Dior Maison Crafts Its Intricate Christmas Ornaments and Astro Vase
Made in association with the historical French artisanal company Manufacture des Emaux de Longwy.
On the ninth day of Christmas,
Working with the historic French masters of enamelware, Manufacture des Emaux de Longwy (founded in 1798), and the Italian artist Pietro Ruffo, Dior Maison’s Astro vase comprises a cream fired earthenware design that’s embellished with beautifully delicate depictions of constellations, colored in blue.
While the colorway might be traditional, the technique applied to the vase is described by the House as “ingenious.” Using tissue paper, the design is placed onto the vase via a transfer method that allows the artisans to meticulously place the artwork, creating a beautiful centerpiece for your Christmas table.
As for the ornaments, Dior Maison uses a similar method of enamel, tissue paper, and crystal powder glazing to create equally intricate tree hangings.
The Dior homewares are available in selected boutiques around the world now, while alternatives can be found online.
