When Margot Robbie was announced as the lead actress for a Barbie film in early 2019, fans of both her and the franchise lit up with excitement. In the years following, Warner Bros. has continued to build anticipation for the movie, revealing Ryan Gosling as Robbie’s Ken counterpart. Now, arriving shortly after various first looks at the stars in character, a complete teaser trailer has been shared ahead of its 2023 release date.

In the trailer, a dramatic narration over captivating sunset shots leads into children playing with baby dolls. Until suddenly, a larger than life Margot Robbie appears as Barbie, towering of the children in her iconic black and white striped swimsuit. Colorful scenes from the movie then follow in a rapid sequence, featuring additional cast members such as Ryan Gosling, Simu Liu and Issa Rae. Directed by Greta Gerwig, the plastic world comes to the big screen with Noah Baumbach as a co-writer.

For those anxiously awaiting the debut of Margot Robbie’s Barbie, it is currently scheduled to appear in theaters worldwide on July 21, 2023, battling it out with Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer for first week box office numbers.

In other entertainment news, Henry Cavill’s stepping away from Superman has led to him joining the Warhammer 40,000 franchise as an actor and executive producer for Amazon’s upcoming adaptation.
