Opening Ceremony Adds a Tailored Twist to Dickies' Workwear
Dropping tweed 874 pants, oversized overshirts and boxy jackets.

Carol Lim and Humberto Leon have turned Opening Ceremony into a collaborative powerhouse, following up on its collection with LUAR with a new capsule made in tandem with Dickies.
Opening Ceremony, which plays with bold graphics, brash colors and non-conformist silhouettes, has taken the straightforward and traditional attitude of Dickies and turned it on its head. By doing so, the collaboration offers a unique take on Dickies classics like the 874 pant, which combines a workwear staple with a high-end approach. For example, the pants now come in a tailored cut formed in a tweed check pattern, coming in either a classic black and white iteration or a brave lilac and yellow design.
As expected from Dickies, a uniform is offered as a matching tweed overshirt joins the collection. For this, Opening Cermony equips an oversized fit before adorning the shirt with its newfound dual-branding and a twin-set of large front pockets, distinguishing itself from the jacket that’s designed to be more utilitarian in its roots.
The duo manages this through the use of metal trims and buttons all over the jacket, before cutting it boxy as all good workwear pieces should be.
