Off-White™ EQUIPMENT™ c/o Helinox Refines Packable Furniture

Helinox, the innovative design imprint behind the portable furniture category’s inception, and Off-White™ have joined forces on a collection of movable pieces that reinterpret functionality via avant-garde silhouettes. The Off-White™ EQUIPMENT™ c/o Helinox collection, thought up by the late visionary Virgil Abloh, intends to question design barriers with its stimulating approach.

At large, the collaboration reenvisions Adam and Eve’s proverbial fig leaf, with the intention of provoking thoughts regarding humanity’s origins. Black fig leaves decorate Helinox’s furniture across the collection, specifically the brand’s Sunset Chair and Table One Hard Top Large, both of which feature tonal black fabric over metal frames. The former is crafted high off the ground, making it one of the label’s most popular designs; and the latter is built for outdoor usage.

“This incredible project with Off-White™ has been an exploration that’s meaningful to us and demonstrates the breadth in how humans experience art, fashion, utility and the outdoors,” said Young Lah, Global CEO of Helinox. “The Helinox brand comes through as a canvas, both in terms of expressing style and in terms of how people use our products for enjoyment in so many different environments. We are honored to collaborate with this group of people and brands and bring this project to life.”

The collaboration began in 2020, when Abloh approached Post Archive Faction (PAF) to craft a tactical performance wear collection for today’s terrain. In response, the Korean label proposed “the creation of multidimensional safe zones for human survival,” which spanned clothing, tools and spaces. Over the following two years, Off-White™ and PAF enlisted Helinox and Swiss Army knife manufacturer, Victorinox, to realize their vision.

Additionally, the collection includes the Off-White c/o Post Archive Faction c/o Victorinox knife and the EQUIPMENT™ Stone, a three-dimensional grey rock stamped with its namesake moniker.

The Off-White™ EQUIPMENT™ c/o Post Archive Faction c/o Victorinox c/o Helinox collection is now available in Off-White™ stores and on the brand’s website.

Elsewhere, chairs designed by Gaetano Pesce for Bottega Veneta are now available.
