Nike Unveils Its Celebratory Air Max TW "Lunar New Year" Colorway
The kicks are accessorized with festive floral graphics and beaded laces.

The celebrations surrounding Lunar New Year will commence in just a few months time, and it’s tradition for various sportswear brands to participate through commemorative footwear releases. One imprint that consistently honors Chinese culture is Nike, and after unveiling its “Lunar New Year” Dunks, the Beaverton-based company is now bringing light to its Air Max TW “Lunar New Year” makeup.
While most of the real estate on these CNY kicks are covered in a pure white hue, it’s the accents and subtle details that give them life. If you peek closely at the side panels, you’ll notice that tonal floral patterns and Swoosh logos in the form of flowers are printed across the mesh quarters. The silhouettes of flowers are similar to that of flamingo lilies — which in Chinese culture symbolize prosperity. To further expand upon its festive motif, the Swoosh designers decorate the laces with beads as well as sprinkle in orange and red accents atop the toe boxes, lace loops heels, midsole molds and treading to represent good fortune.
Check out a closer look at the pair above and expect Nike and other retailers to release these in the coming months.
Elsewhere in footwear, the LeBron James x Nike Dunk Low “Fruity Pebbles” has been given a release date.
