MSCHF's First-Ever Handbag Is Made in Italy...Texas
The small-town accessory has big-city dreams on the menu at New York’s Lucali.
Brooklyn-based art collective MSCHF has debuted its first-ever handbag under the ever-so-glamorous name “Made in Italy.” As its moniker suggests, the sleek accessory was constructed in Italy, but not the European country famous for its contributions to art, design and fashion. Think much smaller, further south and American: the bag was made in Italy, Texas.
It’s a classic gag from the viral design firm, but don’t let its small-town origins deter you. The bag, priced at $550 USD, is made with exterior premium leather and interior suede. Arriving in both black and brown colorways, the accessory boasts blended block lettering reading “MSCHF ITALY” on its front-facing side and small handheld straps on its opening.
Suffering from imposter syndrome, the “Made in Italy” bag is officially listed on the menu at Brookyln’s favorite pizza restaurant, Lucali. Notably, MSCHF created the hot Italian spot’s first physical menu; and amidst all of the pizzeria’s top-pier pies, you’ll find the accessory ready to order. Act fast: the bag will only remain on the menu until November 25.
