Darryl Brown Integrates Classic Workwear Into His adidas Campus 80
Coated in a “Jade Green” colorway.

adidas has presented the latest iteration of its Campus 80 silhouette in collaboration with Darryl Brown.
Traditionally, Brown is known for his modern approach to workwear design, with his inspiration stemming from his life as an engineer — and this has been seen across a slew of his recent projects. For example, back in 2020, Brown curated a selection of T-shirts that featured a collegiate typeface and imagery of a trailer-laden truck, one that nods toward the working-class heritage of alcohol delivery drivers.
Working-class backgrounds have been a key theme in his design process as of late, and his latest Campus 80 silhouette stays in keeping with that. The new sneaker comes hot on the heels of his Midwest Kids Forum Low 84 drop, and now, the Toledo-based designer has tapped into the blue-collar history of the region that he calls home.
For this release, Brown has updated the Campus with various nods to subcultural boundaries, with his basketball heritage and later interests in music and skateboarding communities. The shoe’s upper is coated in “Jade Green,” a hue that is reminiscent of his father’s workwear uniform. In addition to the colors, the fabrications blend a mix of suede and canvas, while a leather lining ties all of the paneled detailing together.
Rounding off the design, the customary Three Stripe branding and the heel section is adorned in “Off White,” with the rubber outsole coming in a dirty-brown tone.
