Since popularity for the silhouette erupted in 2020, the New Balance 550 has graced the feet of casual sneaker wearers across the globe. The footwear imprint seems to debut new colorways weekly and now submerges the silhouette in a greyscale palette.

Following the reveal of the “Blue Groove” edition arriving at retailers today, the New Balance 550 is hit with rugged suede “Rain Cloud” panels that wrap its upper half. The material adorns the mudguards, toe boxes, medials, and heel counters, while the ankle areas, rears, and tongues sport mesh underlays in a lighter tone alongside vibrant white leather trimmings.

Profile “N” logos pop off the sneaker and add an energetic touch, while further branding is seen via the forefoot, heel “NB” lettering, and tongue tags fashioned with basketball graphics. The low-cut silhouette is complete with New Balance-marked midsoles and creamy rubber bottoms.

The New Balance 550 “Rain Cloud” will hit retailers later this year for $110 USD.

In other news, Daily Paper wants you to take a mid-season “Holiday” for FW22.
