Here’s What Went Down at LiveWire’s Celebration Event for Its S2 Del Mar Electric Motorcycle and Company Listing on the NYSE

Reservations for the S2 Del Mar are officially open on LiveWire’s website. Those with confirmed reservations through the site will have priority delivery for the production model, with expected arrival in the spring of 2023. An event party at Studio 525 in New York’s West Chelsea Highline Arts District introduced the LiveWire ONE and S2 Del Mar on display alongside custom-made moto gear designed in collaboration with artist Eric Haze. A live DJ set performed by Vashtie Kola (Vashtie) and Pete Butta rounded out the experience as guests gathered to celebrate LiveWire’s newest electric motorcycle.

Multidisciplinary artist Eric Haze worked in partnership with creative agency ICNCLST and LiveWire to reimagine the LiveWire One with a bespoke hand-painted design. The bike was stationed front and center in an installation with surrounding areas showcasing leather moto jackets and biking gear — upcycled by Haze — and graphic, graffiti-inspired projections dominating the main entrance.

The LiveWire ONE’s core structure was disassembled and meticulously hand-painted with an abstract, geometric pattern in textured brush strokes using white paint. “This bike was done 100% organically by hand — not in a factory or using traditional print technology,” Haze noted of the customized bike. “I approached it somewhere between what my style is naturally going to be like on this object as a canvas, of course, and at the same time, letting the object speak to me in terms of its unique shapes. Tonight’s actually the first time I’ve seen it all assembled in person. There’s no perfect calculation on how everything’s going to exist together when it’s bolted together, but I’m super happy with how it turned out.”

Creative agency ICNCLST collaborated hand in hand with Eric Haze and LiveWire to bring the installation to life and played a role in sourcing garments for Haze to reinterpret through his signature graphic language. Vice President of ICNCLST Michael Burch attributes the collaboration to Haze’s fascination with LiveWire’s innovative positioning in the electric motorcycle division: “Our team at ICNCLST worked with the LiveWire team to identify a creative collaborator with deep roots in the motorcycle community. Our longtime collaborator Eric Haze immediately came to mind as he has a passion for the motorcycle world, has worked in it previously, and even used to race superbikes at Pocono Raceway.”

ICNCLST helped facilitate communications with brands that felt organically aligned with Haze’s creative vision. “In speaking with Haze, we learned of his passion for the head to toe look, for the custom leathers, and for the helmet as the statement piece. He identified AlpineStars and Bell as some of his favorites in the space and the LiveWire team was kind enough to put our team in contact with their counterparts at those brands,” Burch details.

“A true motorcycle racer by identity will have a whole kit,” Haze said during the event. “You will have leathers that match the bike and a helmet that matches the leather. These were sort of bonus prizes in this project. It’s satisfying to me to complete the exercise in that traditional fashion, where it’s not just a bike — it makes it an identity.” The custom bike is now among Haze’s permanent collection in his multimedia studio and showroom in Brooklyn.

The ICNCLST team was on hand during the event, along with leadership from the LiveWire and New York Stock Exchange teams, and Harley-Davidson Chairman and CEO and LiveWire CEO Jochen Zeitz. The S2 Del Mar model was housed in a showroom towards the back alongside TV installs presenting LiveWire’s branded campaign on a loop. The S2 Del Mar’s proprietary ARROW architecture was developed in-house at LiveWire Labs in Mountain View, California, and presents a modular system central to the motorcycle chassis.
