HOMME PLISSÉ ISSEY MIYAKE Launches AW22 "LANTERN" Capsule
With signature prints inspired by a tent lantern’s glow.

Debuted in January of this year, HOMME PLISSÉ ISSEY MIYAKE‘s Autumn/Winter 2023 collection, dubbed “A Work of Arc,” adapts the concept of a tent, as a structure composed of both fabric and frame, and transforms its elements into clothes. Exploring new three-dimensional forms, the collection is divided into several subsections dedicated to individual components: among them, “LANTERN,” a print series exuding the warmth of a tent’s glowing light, launches today.
The range is defined by a signature pattern that mimics the sensation of a lantern’s gleam, specifically made by drawing with pastels and developing powders with paint brushes. The result is a rich, gradient graphic, which spotlights light and dark tones of blue, red, yellow and grey against a black backdrop.
The print does its talking across a slew of well-tailored silhouettes. A V-neck button-up jacket pairs with straight, asymmetrically pleated trousers in one ensemble, but the line’s standouts are undoubtedly its legion of dramatically oversized collared coats that stand alone atop fitted black pants. Take one look and you’ll note that “LANTERN” is for the bold-hearted.
