Rosalía Is the Face of Acne Studios FW22

In the early 2000s, celebrity culture was a huge part of our lives. From burgeoning reality TV shows like Big Brother to the paparazzi storm that captured big names falling out of nightclubs or living it up on a shopping trip, inescapable names today like Paris Hilton and Kim Kardashian were catapulted into the spotlight, with the latter going on to become a muse for houses like Balenciaga. With this, it seems that our obsession with celebrity culture and their crossover into fashion is at an all-time high, and now Acne Studios follows on from its star-studded Paris Fashion Week show with its Fall/Winter 2022 campaign, starring Rosalía.
Photographed by the Dutch artist Paul Kooiker, the campaign puts the Spanish singer in a historical spotlight and creates an almost otherworldly, surreal surrounding that sees Rosalía become the house’s new muse. Here, key FW22 pieces from the Jonny Johansson-helmed label sit alongside Rosalía, focusing on runway looks ranging from a double-breasted maxi leather waistcoat to accessories like the upside-down sunglasses.
Elsewhere, sculptural shell-shaped bags coated in cow hair, high leather boots, antique-effect belts and jewels, fringed Renaissance pieces and more all make an appearance.
