6876 and Admiral Sporting Goods Unite to Honor British Craftsmanship

Heritage sporting label Admiral Sporting Goods has teamed up with 6876 to honor British craftsmanship and the traditions of the past with an understated apparel capsule.
Founded by Kenneth Mackenzie in 1995, 6876 has become renowned for producing premium quality clothing, and focusing on product and craftsmanship — as opposed to solely fashion — and has in turn garnered a devoted and loyal brand following.
Admiral’s view of clothing is similar. Since its inception in 1914, the brand has always taken a no-nonsense approach to its craft, whether creating sportswear or leisure wear. In its time the brand has also adorned the chest of some of the world’s greatest football teams — something in particular that attracted Mackenzie to collaborate in the first place.
“A collaboration for 6876 first and foremost has to involve a like-minded aesthetic view point and integrity of the product,” explains Mackenzie. “With Admiral Sporting Goods we found these principles deeply rooted in the historical and contemporary aspects of the brand. Secondarily, there has to be a mutual trust and respect between the two collaborators which we’ve managed to develop over the period of working together.”
The collection itself will comprise T-shirts, hoodies and sweatshirts, while the stand-out item is undoubtedly the Admiral Sporting Goods Co. x 6876 Fairham Jacket, a modernist car coat-style short raincoat with a zip-off hood. Crafted with classic gabardine cloth, the garment is lined with fully breathable microfibre, comes equipped with storm cuffs and arrives in either “Alder Green” or “Hawk Navy”.
While the rest of the collection is available to buy now, the Admiral Sporting Goods Co. x 6876 Fairham Jacket is available to pre-order now from the Admiral Sporting Goods webstore, retailing at £375 (approximately $510 USD).
In other news, mushroom leather brand MycoWorks has secured $125 Million USD in funding.
