Audacious Patterns and Vibrant Hues Inform New York Fashion Week SS22 Street Style
Showcasing bold outerwear and standout tailoring.
New York Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2022 street style is back in full force after a much tamer last season hindered by COVID-19.
This season saw fashion week show-goers embrace the vibrant energy of one of the industry’s most anticipated Fall events. The city received a boost in exuberance and drama as attendees dazzled the streets of NYC with their best street style ensembles. Key shows at NYFW SS22 included Peter Do, Monse, Moschino, Proenza Schouler, Thom Browne and Coach, just to name a few.
Bold patterns were paired with resonant hues, giving NYFW a burst of color throughout the week. NYC saw an array of denim outerwear, including KAPITAL’s 14oz Denim Westerner jacket from its expansive FW19 collection. Casual silhouettes informed the outfits throughout New York which included loose-fitting Prada bowling shirts layered under lightweight overcoats. Modest suiting also had its moment this season with many seen in standout tailored pieces. Most notably, Thom Browne’s exceptional kilt and suit jacket pairing rounded out the street style looks this season with a touch of traditional trimming. In terms of street style footwear favorites, Nike comes back strong with show-goers spotted wearing SB Dunk Low Travis Scott, “Panda” Dunk Lows and Jordan 1 Retro High Off-White Chicago.
