Official Look at the NBA x Nike Dunk Low "Nets"
A homage to the Nets’ New Jersey and Brooklyn eras.
The 2021-2022 NBA season marks the league’s 75th anniversary, and to celebrate this milestone, it will be partnering with Nike on a wide-ranging collection of footwear propositions. A handful of the products serve as dedications to certain teams in the Association, one being this NBA x Nike Dunk Low “Nets” colorway that has just popped up via official imagery.
Before the Nets moved to Brooklyn and called the Barclays Center its new home in 2012, the franchise was based in New Jersey. And so this new low-cut iteration honors both eras of its basketball heritage. The color palette references the New Jersey Nets old retro uniforms and utilizes white, navy blue and gray color-blocking throughout its base layer’s panels. Fans who followed the team in their prime of the Jason Kidd, Vince Carter and Richard Jefferson days will certainly resonate with its palette. Diamond logos have been added to the lace dubraes as signifiers of the NBA’s 75th diamond year, and the tongues have been altered with the leagues anniversary logo. Additionally, a Nets logo that merges elements from both the past and modern eras is stamped onto the lower heel.
Nike in Asia will be the first to launch these kicks on October 7 for $100 USD.
