The PUMA Hoops strategy has been to lure in young and fresh talent into its family, and they’ve certainly done that as its basketball roster consists of players like Kyle Kuzma, RJ Barrett, Michael Porter Jr. and more. However, its most important NBA signing to-date has arguably been LaMelo Ball whom racked up 15.7 points, 5.9 rebounds and 6.1 assists in his first year in the Association and earned Rookie of the Year honors. With a promising future ahead of him, PUMA as opted to grant him his own signature shoe titled the PUMA MB1, and the Charlotte Hornets floor general debuted the kicks whilst sitting on the sidelines spectating his brother Gelo at the NBA Summer League.

The colorway is bold in its appearance as most of the ground is wrapped in a vivid red hue. Uppers look to be engineered with a mesh material that sports various grooves across the lateral and medial heels. Down the throat, you’ll find various personal branding that’s printed out in black. The tongues feature a “1-of-1” spell out, while the bottom of the throat has a “Not From Here” hit which is Ball’s personal motto. Sandwiched in between is a bird-like logo whose wings spread across the mesh tongues and PUMA‘s stripe is slapped onto the outer sides of the toe boxes. Additionally, the midsoles are carved out with diamond-like textures on the lateral heels.

No release info has been announced yet, but it’s likely that PUMA will unveil these ahead of the upcoming NBA season.

Elsewhere in footwear news, Usain Bolt’s recently PUMA Basket collaboration is a nod to the Tokyo Olympics.
