Vault by Vans has been on a bonafide hot streak in when it comes down to its collaborations lately as it’s rolled out collections with the likes of Patta, BEDWIN & THE HEARTBREAKERS, Madhappy and more. And to further expand upon its Summer ‘21 run, the skateboarding label is now tapping FDMTL for a three-piece collection that involves the SK8-Hi, OG Authentic LX and the Slip-On LX.
For context, FDMTL is a fashion label that launched in Tokyo back in 2005 and it specializes in engineering premium quality indigo garments. For this team-up it demonstrates denim expertise and applies it to the uppers of the aforementioned models. Each take is designed with a jacquard cotton denim base layer that features a patchwork aesthetic. On top of that, each pair is heavily distressed which gives the kicks a unique texture and worn-in look. Sashiko stitching also gets brought to light on the Authentic and Sk8-Hi pairs, the former of which is visible on the laces while the latter bears it on the laces and jazz stripes. Bottoms of each offering are wrapped with shiny navy blue midsoles and completed with the traditional waffle treading.
Check out a closer look at the collection in the galley above, and note that it will be available at select Vault by Vans retailers come August 7.
