With a shared dedication to high levels of craftsmanship, the two brands have sourced heritage textiles to create unique footwear for this collaboration. The result is a series of footwear, apparel and accessories infused with timeless elements.
Founded by Masafumi “Bebeton” Watanabe, BEDWIN & THE HEARTBREAKERS is a Japanese brand that’s driven by an ethos of global travel. While the brand finds inspiration across different cultures and styles, elements from 1920s and ‘30s Americana have become a reccurring motif in its pieces. For the Authentic LX model in the collaboration, Vault by Vans and BEDWIN & THE HEARTBREAKERS offer three bandana-patterned colorways. Crafted from USA-made bandanas cut at different seams, every pair from this collaboration is unique. Other key details like a red foxing stripe and a red “Off The Wall” heel logo give a nod to Vans’ classic heritage. In addition to the Authentic LX, the Vault by Vans x BEDWIN & THE HEARTBREAKERS collection also includes the Old Skool LX, which was the first shoe to include Vans’ iconic Sidestripe. The Old Skool is offered in a rich blue colorway, which is made from canvas and suede, with a bandana Sidestripe and tongue. Throughout the collection, the pieces cultivate a seamless blend of Japanese design with Western styling, which is also reflective of the partnership between the two brands.
The allover patchwork bandana motif is continued across other offerings like apparel and accessories. Pieces like a bold patchwork short-sleeve T-shirt, a short-sleeve logo T-shirt and a grey pullover hoodie with “Off the Wall” text on the front round out the selection. The collection also features a classic bucket hat in a blue bandana or multicolored bandana colorway.
