Slam Jam Adds Its Stamp to Brain Dead's Summer 2021 Pieces

Longstanding friends Slam Jam and Brain Dead are working together once again, and for Summer 2021 the duo has dropped their third capsule collection that plays off both of their signature design cues.

Throughout a capsule comprising T-shirts, polos, shorts, tea towels, rugs, and glassware, we find a hybridization of both of the brands that combines everything there’s to love about Slam Jam and the same for Brain Dead. For example, Brain Dead loves rugs and often produces goods for the home, and so its signature rampant rabbits are now seen with a peace sign and Slam Jam’s “A” logo for faces alongside more overt branding.

The Brain Dead face incorporates the Slam Jam insignia in its design for a graphic T-shirt, while the same design on the rug also appears on other tees. Elsewhere, a long-sleeve polo shirt has been finished in a very Slam Jam-feeling mottled, creased-looking grayscale tie-dye print alongside Brain Dead embroidered branding on the chest and the dual-logo head on the rear, while a pair of shorts with this head logo on them round out the garments on offer.

All in all, the collaboration goes to show the cultural impact Luca Benini‘s Slam Jam has had on streetwear, and how easily it can adapt or apply its aesthetic to suit a wide range of brands and sub-cultures.
