Italy-based design house Pininfarina debuts a sleek new bronze car concept Teorema that looks to the future as it packs an appearance of high-tech interiors and mechanisms.

Known for some of the world’s most beautifully designed automobiles, Pininfarina has blown our vision away with major classics such as the Ferrari 250 GT SWB and Peugeot 504. Shifting gears, the design firm conceptualizes a car that gives us a peek into the future as it uses virtual and augmented reality to visualize a bullet-like silhouette that opts to be powered by electric energy.

Rather than slipping in through the doors, the design takes on a rear entrance as the roof extends upwards and forwards which also functions with a holographic augmented reality display. Found inside is a total of 5 seats in the form of ‘1+2+2’ with a handle that functions as a steering wheel. The front seat is able to rotate so that it can face the rear occupants, while the second-row seats can be unfolded to be connected to the third-row seats and transformed into a long sofa.

The concept stretches at 5,400 millimeters which is a little less than the Rolls-Royce Phantom, but close to the latest Mercedes Maybach S-Class. The team sculpted the car by taking advantage of Pininfarina’s own wind tunnel to maximize aerodynamic efficiency. Large air ducts on the sides channel the air from the front to the rear to improve airflow and consequently boost the EV’s range.

No plans for production are set in stone for the Teorema, but a considerable amount of interest has been received.

In case you missed it, Hennessey Performance’s entry-level Ford Bronco is still a beast.
