Nike ACG's Iconic Air Mowabb Returns in "Gravity Purple" and "Birch/Bright Mandarin"
In celebration of its 30th anniversary.

After being teased in recent months, it’s now been confirmed: Nike‘s outdoor-focused Nike ACG sub-label will be bringing back the ACG Air Mowabb in 2021. Inarguably the most famous ACG footwear silhouette, the Mowabb was designed by Tinker Hatfield, inspired by Hatfield’s frequent trips to Moab, Utah, and is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year. As part of those festivities, it’s releasing in two vivid colorways: “Gravity Purple” and the famous “Birch/Bright Mandarin.”
“Gravity Purple” is a loud colorway with rich purple suede spread across its upper. This kingly material is accented with a black neoprene collar and black heel clip, plus hits of “University Gold” on the heel, collar and forefoot mini Swoosh alike. Down below, midsoles supply an ultra-dark “Blue Void” tone that almost looks black upon first glimpse, contrasting with the black and white speckled detailing on the heel.
“Birch/Bright Mandarin” is a style that’s surely familiar to any ACG aficionado or Tinker Hatfield fanatic. It’s airy, earthy and sporty all at once thanks to a soft tan upper with rich blue and orange detailing on the collar, throat, forefoot Swoosh and heel. Black heel clips work with cement-like gray speckled midsoles to add some dark contrast as well. Both the “Gravity Purple” and “Birch/Bright Mandarin” are completed by triangular ACG badges on the lateral collar and a Hurrache-like rubber stamp on the tongue.
Look for the Nike ACG Air Mowabb “Gravity Purple” and “Birch/Bright Mandarin” to release at European retailers like Hanon on August 1. The MSRP for each pair is set at £145 GBP (approximately $200 USD). Info on a US release will likely be announced soon.
