HUMAN MADE isn’t messing around this season, especially on the collaborations front as it has unveiled projects with teamed up with Verdy for an apparel collection, enhanced its Kyoto store location with a Blue Bottle coffee shop and teased a forthcoming collection with KAWS. The first joint on the roster is primarily presented with a bold blue hue which covers the mesh underlays, suede overlays, tongues and the mudguards. Angelic finishes are applied to the side stripes, laces, “X” overlays parked out back, and the overlays that surround the throat. Tonal HUMAN MADE branding is debossed into the spine, while a “2020” hit — likely nodding to the Tokyo Olympics — stands out in the interior of the heel. Additionally, the adidas spell out that is stationed on the lateral side contrasts with a gilded finish.
Its release sibling also goes for the two-toned motif, but falls on the brighter side of the spectrum. Base layers are treated with mostly-white exterior, and come neighbored by small notes of gray suede overlays along the front, mid-foot and the back end. A striking “Solar Red” hue interrupts its palette along the stripes, heels and interior 2020 markings. Given that HUMAN MADE is founded in Japan, it’s likely that this pair was crafted to represent Japan in the Olympic Games.
