H.E.R. Brings Self-Curated ‘Lights On’ R&B Music Festival to Brooklyn
Following a sold out festival in California.

H.E.R. will take her self-curated Lights On Festival to Brooklyn’s Barclays Center this October. She’ll be headlining the two-day festival herself, alongside the legendary neo soul trailblazer, MAXWELL.
Lights On made history as the first female-owned-and-curated music festival to take place in decades with its inaugural event in 2019. Its follow up, the second annual festival, was announced in June and is scheduled to take place once again in Concord, California across two days this September. A testament to the 2019 event’s success, both shows in Concord immediately sold out within 24 hours. In addition to music, the Bay Area version will also host a film screening tent, live art installations, an R&B museum, a guitar lounge, along with other rides and attractions.
Over the course of last year, during which the festival was paused due to the pandemic, H.E.R. recorded her debut studio album Back of My Mind, released through RCA Records last month on June 18. She also helmed an Instagram Live performance and conversation series called “Girls With Guitars,” which had guest appearances by Sheryl Crow, Melissa Etheridge, Willow Smith, Tori Kelly, Alessia Cara, Chloe x Halle and more.
Spotlit by a special H.E.R. & Friends set, the upcoming Brooklyn festival will feature performances from a slew of R&B icons, including Bryson Tiller, 6lack, Ari Lennox, SWV, Queen Naija, Chloe Bailey, Lucky Daye, Blxst, Victoria Monét and others, with more performers yet to be announced.
Presale tickets for the Lights On Festival go on sale today, while general public tickets are up for grabs on the festival’s website this Friday, July 23 at 10 a.m. EDT.
