Teen Awarded $20,000 USD for Discovery of Rare “Puffy” Doritos Chip
Finding a funky chip literally pays off.
A video of a rare “puffy” Doritos chip recently went viral and the snack company offered a $20,000 USD reward to the Australian teen for her discovery and bold entrepreneurship.
13-year-old Rylee Stuart posted a video on TikTok showcasing the puffed-out Doritos chip with the caption, “I found a puff Dorito! Is this valuable or should I just eat? Tell me please.” The video quickly spread like wildfire and viewers suggested Stuart auction off the chip. She created a listing on eBay starting the bidding at 99 cents and the bids shot up to about $100,000 USD.
While the singular chip listing has been taken down, the snack company took notice and created a Doritos Bold Fund worth $20,000 USD for Stuart and her family in an effort to encourage her entrepreneurial spirit.

Doritos Australia Chief Marketing Officer Vandita Pandey said, “We’ve been so impressed with Rylee’s boldness and entrepreneurial spirit, so we wanted to make sure the Stuart family were rewarded for their creativity and love for Doritos!”
