Dior Unveils Playing Card-Inspired Collection With Kenny Scharf
The new collection is the second collaboration between the iconic artist and the Parisian house.
Kim Jones and Kenny Scharf are back with another Dior collection after first working together for the Parisian house’s fall 2021 men’s show.
The new offering is a tribute to Dior’s passion for the creative spirit of games. As such, the Ace, King and Queen of Hearts characterize the collection’s looks. Known for his surrealist artistic style, Scharf has reworked these playing card figures, merging his aesthetic with Dior’s heritage.
The capsule features a new silk scarf-style print adorned with a playing card, taking form in captivating shades of blue. Additionally, the Dior oblique motif runs throughout shorts and a shirt. The new design can also be seen on a black jacket, sweatshirts and a button down shirt. Short sleeve t-shirts feature a heritage Dior logo with a playful smiling face. Additionally, the capsule contains a couple accessories such as a silver necklace and bucket hat, in addition to the brand’s B23 sneakers.
The new capsule collection adds to the long line of artists Dior has collaborated with including Daniel Arsham, Brian Donnelly (aka KAWS), Matthew Williams & 1017 ALYX 9SM, Raymond Pettibon, Yoon Ahn, Shawn Stussy and Hajime Sorayama.
