Almost two years after announcing that Mahershala Ali will star in the Blade reboot, Marvel Studios is now rumored to have found the director for the film.

According to reports, Bassam Tariq of 2020 indie film Mogul Mowgli starring Riz Ahmed is now expected to handle direction on Blade. If reports are correct, Tariq will beat out “dozens of candidates” to become the sixth person of color to direct for Marvel Studios, joining the likes of Ryan Coogler, Chloé Zhao, Destin Cretton, Taika Waititi and Nia DaCosta.

Originally announced around two years ago, Marvel Studios’ Blade still has not received a release schedule.

For more entertainment news, Jujutsu Kaisen manga is officially ending its hiatus and will return to serialization.
