This Umbrella Doubles As a Rain Poncho
A real walking umbrella.

As the rainy season approaches, Japanese gadget company Thanko has released an umbrella that doubles up as a rain poncho — giving a new definition for weather-ready fashion.
Slightly larger than a folded umbrella, the well-designed product can be used as a conventional umbrella for light rain, and when the weather starts to pick up, you simply remove the six caps on the canopy for an extra layer that prevents your backpack from getting soaked. The transformations don’t stop there as there’s even a pop-out hood that allows you to wear it like a rain poncho by shortening the shaft — effectively covering the entire top half of your body. The overall design is to keep your outfit dry even during a downpour with no intentions of hiding the umbrella’s shape as it covers your body.
Priced at approximately $27 USD, the Thanko 2-way umbrella is now available to purchase at the company’s website.
