Nike‘s yearly “Be True” collection for Pride month is always centered around a specific theme — in 2020 it was the “More Color, More Pride” flag designed by artist/activist Amber Hikes, and in 2019 it was centered around the rainbow hues of Gilbert Baker’s original Pride flag. Now, in 2021, Nike Sportswear is taking its flag inspiration further than ever with a four-shoe collection, each pair of which is accompanied by nine unique flag patches.

Silhouettes offered in the pack range from casual classics to high end performance shoes: there’s the Blazer Low, the Air Max Pre-Day, the React Infinity Run 2 and the All Out Utility Slide. The low-cut Blazer features a white leather upper, a rainbow-stitched Swoosh, a special tag on its exposed foam tongue, a heel tab that holds its interchangeable patches and a bubblegum pink midsole. The Air Max Pre-Day boasts a bold blue base with a gradient rainbow Swoosh, a Pride tongue tag, a cored-out midsole that shows the heel Air unit in full and, much like the Blazer, a space for patches on its heel.

The React Infinity Run 2 supplies a full Flynkit upper with black and multicolor detailing, the latter of which is reminiscent of 2017’s Flyknit Racer “Be True.” Outlined Swooshes take on a multicolor gradient and heel tabs are customizable. Last but not least, the All Out Utility Slide features a pink strap with a zipper pouch for storage, a unique pattern on its outsole and a Velcro strip on its front that enables the wearer to change flag patches as they see fit. There’s also a full collection of apparel that ranges from tees to hoodies and trail shorts.

Look for the 2021 Nike “Be True” collection to release on the Nike webstore come June 15.
