Lil Kim Wants a 'VERZUZ' Battle With Nicki Minaj

Just weeks after Swizz Beats teased fans that there might be a Lil Kim VERZUZ battle, Lil Kim herself appears to be toying with the idea too, even announcing who she might want to be paired with.

Over this past weekend’s BET Awards, Lil Kim was asked whether or not she would be up for going head-to-head against another MC. She quickly responded “yes” and even revealed that she wanted to take on Barbie Queen, Nicki Minaj in VERZUZ. When the interviewer said that he would also love to see the match-up, Kim responded, “Yes, me too.”

In 2007, there were reports that Nicki Minaj and Lil Kim were engaged in artwork-related feud rumors. Over the years, it has been public knowledge that both female artists might not have been on the best terms. Back in 2018, Kim commented on the potential bad blood stating, “I’m past that I’m over it. She did what she did, until she’s ready, hopefully, God puts it on her mind to do the right thing because she knows what she did.”

In the past, Trina has also been public about taking on Kim in a rap battle. This past weekend also saw Soulja Boy and Bow Wow go head-to-head in their own VERZUZ battle with ove 500,000 people watching. Big names including Drake, Lizzo and brand were amongst those watching.

In other music news, JAY-Z boasts that his “playlist game is A++” and is willing to “challenge anyone out there.”
