LEGO‘s Technic division is known for its incredibly detailed builds, and now it follows on from the consumer-appropriate 1:8 scale model of Automobili Lamborghini‘s Sián with a life-sized version of the rare supercar.

The life-sized build is millimeter-perfect, and the numbers are truly staggering. Over 400,000 LEGO Technic pieces have been used in the creation of this model, which comprises 154 different types of LEGO Technic elements and 20 that were molded exclusively for the car.

From development to build, the LEGO team spent 8,660 hours meticulously planning the Sián’s outcome. The result is nothing short of astonishing, as it is about as perfect as a LEGO version could be — no detail has been spared whatsoever. It’s 4,980 mm long, 2,101mm wide and 1,133mm high, weighs 2,200kg, and features real-life details such as a first-of-a-kind paintbrush-effect coating applied by Lamborghini’s official car painter.

Inside, everything is built brick-by-brick, from the Lamborghini and Italian flag-wearing steering wheel to the intricate dashboard and even the racing seats. Lena Dixen, Senior Vice President of Product and Marketing at the LEGO Group said: “Our designers love a challenge, so you can imagine their delight when we tasked them to think slightly larger than normal with this model. They jumped at the chance of teaming up with our amazing designers and engineers from our model production workshop at the Kladno factory in the Czech Republic who build these impressive life-size models, and really pushing the boundaries of what can be done with LEGO Technic. The creativity that the system allows meant it was possible to really do justice to the exceptional design of the Lamborghini Sián FKP 37.”

Rounding out the creative effort is LEGO Technic’s virtual simulator, which puts you in the driver’s seat of the model life-size Sián. Take a look at LEGO Technic’s Lamborghini Sián FKP 37 above, and find out more online, where you can also experience the simulator.

For a real-life marvel, Bugatti has unveiled the Chiron Super Sport.
