Jaden Smith's New Balance Vision Racer Appears in Heritage-Themed Gray Colorway
Smith’s signature sneaker takes a break from its regular lineup of wild styles to equip a legacy NB palette.

If you had to choose three adjectives to describe Jaden Smith and New Balance‘s Vision Racer, “vibrant,” “bold” and “playful” would be apt selections. Since its introduction in July 2020, the Vision Racer has largely skewed towards the whimsical side of the spectrum with vivid colors and bold material choices. However, it’s flipping the script on its latest release by looking to New Balance’s heritage with a signature gray colorway.
Uppers mix gray and silver mesh, leather and suede pieces for classic New Balance style, and the “Vision Racer” tape that runs around the upper keeps things tonal to not detract from the crisp look. Branding is handled by New Balance hits on the tongue, quarter and heel alike. Down below, the Vision Racer’s signature beefy midsoles are done up in simple white foam — and icy blue outsoles with printed graphics ensure that some of Smith’s signature flair remains. Of course, the shoe’s construction is sustainable as well: it features everything from recycled polyester pieces to reground EVA foam and insoles made partly of castor bean oil.
The Jaden Smith x New Balance Vision Racer in gray is set to release at retailers like Nice Kicks on June 18, and is priced at $150 USD.
