Acne Studios Recruits Grant Levy-Lucero for Print Collaboration
Inspired by American iconography and hand-painted signage in California.

Swedish label Acne Studios has partnered with artist Grant Levy-Lucero for a capsule in which he takes inspiration from classic American iconography and hand-painted signage around his native California. This collaboration is the latest joint project from Levy-Lucero and Acne Studios, following 2019’s capsule that incorporated the artist’s signature ceramic pieces.
A particular reference point is old flour sacks, which have been translated into tweed and cotton items. The slogans used throughout the capsule include “Enjoy Acne Studios” and “Fresh Pop Culture,” while prints appear on everything from flared trousers and an oversized tunic dress to sweatshirts, hoodies and tees. The collection’s accessories cover scarves, wool beanies, socks, a keyring, wallet and canvas handbags.
Announcing the collaboration, Levy-Lucero said, “I’m constantly drawn to absurdity and branding, which is where the start of the print collaboration came from — taking these things and making them more sincere or putting it into something more real. I like to think I’m adding to Acne Studios in some way and really proud to be able to contribute to any sort of vernacular that Acne Studios uses.”
All of the items from the collaboration with Grant Levy-Lucero are available now from the Acne Studios web store.
