Up There's Saucony Shadow 6000 Opens the "Doors to the World"

Melbourne-based sneaker boutique Up There and Saucony are back together once again, and for their second-ever collaboration, the duo has worked on the Shadow 6000. Dubbed “Doors to the World,” the collaborative effort is an ode to travelling, specifically around Europe.

Drawing inspiration from the brightly colored doors and tiles that frequently appear throughout traditional European architecture and design, the Shadow 6000 features a multi-textured, multi-colored aesthetic that’s perfect for the warmer months ahead — or all-year-round, if you happen to be from where Up There is from.

A base of cream mesh peaks through on the toe box and mid-panel section, but plenty of overlaying action takes place too. For example, “Olive Green” wolverine suede finds itself covering the toe, sidewalls and mid-panels, the eyestay placket, tongue, rear-quarter and heel sections, while a flash of “Vibrant Pink” iridescent leather has been used for the “S” panel.

More of this iridescent leather can be seen peeking through on the bottom of the rear-quarter and at the heel, while plush cream leather has been used to accent the heel and the tongue’s lining. As if this isn’t clean enough, Up There rounds out the shoe with a white-and-gum sole unit, before adding passport-inspired branding stamped onto the tongue and the insole.

As with all good collaborations, attention to detail is not spared. Making the release even more special is the “Vibrant Pink” dust bag that will house your shoes and the four pairs of complementary laces, as well as a special box that features more passport-inspired design details.

The Up There X Saucony Originals Shadow 6000 “Doors To The World” can be seen above and is due to release on June 4 on the Up There Store website. The sneaker will cost £140 GBP (approx. $198 USD).
