Twitter Accidentally Confirms New ‘Twitter Blue’ Subscription Service
Leaked in the App Store.

Twitter appears to have accidentally confirmed the upcoming release of its new subscription service “Twitter Blue” through the App Store.
Researcher Jane Manchun Wong posted photos of the new Twitter feature in a series of tweets:

Twitter Blue, referred to in the App Store as providing “exclusive features,” appears to cost $2.99 USD per month.
“For testing, I’ve become the first paying Twitter Blue customer,” Wong said, adding that the subscription service comes with color themes, enhanced bookmarking features and custom app icons. Additionally, the feature introduces the soon-to-be-released Reader Mode, which allows users to “keep up with threads by turning them into easy-to-read text.”
It’s unclear if the Twitter add-on will feature less ads than the normal version, though Wong said she has not noticed a difference in the number of ads in her trial.
Wong speculated earlier this month that Twitter Blue might also offer an undo send timer for tweets, a function first teased in March.
Last week, the platform announced that it would finally be relaunching its verification process after a three-year hiatus. Take a look at the newly-announced guidelines for users looking to apply for a blue badge.
