The Weeknd Dominates iHeartRadio Music Awards in Three Major Categories
Doja Cat, Megan Thee Stallion and Roddy Ricch also claimed top trophies.

The iHeartRadio Music Awards honored the biggest names in music on Thursday evening, and The Weeknd prevailed as the night’s top winner.
The Canadian vocalist took home Song of the Year for “Blinding Lights” along with the Male Artist of the Year, which Harry Styles, Justin Bieber, Post Malone and Roddy Ricch were also nominated for. Additionally, The Weekend was awarded TikTok Bop of the Year for the aforementioned No. 1 track.
Dua Lipa was crowned Female Artist of the Year, beating Megan Thee Stallion and the award’s past winners Taylor Swift (2015, 2016 and 2018), Ariana Grande (2019) and Billie Eilish (2020).
Elsewhere in the night, Dan + Shay received Best Duo/Group of the Year, reigning supreme in the highly competitive category that included BTS, Jonas Brothers, Maroon 5 and twenty one pilots.
Several artist returned to their thrones as best artist of the year in their respective genres: Luke Combs won Country Artist of the Year for the third consecutive year, Marshmello claimed Dance Artist of the Year for the third year in a row and H.E.R. was named R&B Artist of the Year for the second consecutive year. Other notable wins included Doja Cat for Best New Artist, “Savage” (Remix) by Megan Thee Stallion featuring Beyoncé for Best Collaboration and Roddy Ricch for Hip-Hop Artist of the Year.
Along with honoring this year’s biggest names in music, the show featured performances from The Weeknd with Ariana Grande, Bruno Mars and Anderson .Paak, Dan + Shay, Doja Cat, Usher and a nominal tribute to the iHeartRadio Icon Award winner, Elton John, from Demi Lovato, Brandi Carlile and H.E.R.
