Marvel Teases First Clips of ‘Eternals’ and Drops Release Dates for Upcoming Films
Featuring “Black Widow” and “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.”
Marvel Studios on Monday released its upcoming movie roster and gave fans a first look at its highly-anticipated film Eternals.
The new super hero movie features a star-studded cast, including Angelina Jolie, Richard Madden, Kumail Nanjiani, Lauren Ridloff, Brian Tyree Henry, Salma Hayek, Lia McHugh, Don Lee and Kit Harrington. The newest Marvel Cinematic Universe installment is directed by Oscar-winning director Chloé Zhao and takes place after the events of Avengers: Endgame.
According to the online synopsis, the new team of super heroes are “ancient aliens who have been living on Earth in secret for thousands of years.” It adds that the events of Avengers: Endgame unexpectedly forced them out of the shadows to take on “mankind’s most ancient enemy, the Deviants.”
In the new three-minute long clip posted Monday, which Marvel Studios describes as “celebrating the love of storytelling and the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s most memorable moments,” the studio offered glimpses of future films and listed their release dates.
The video opens with a heartfelt monologue from the late Stan Lee, saying: “I love being with people; it’s the most incredible feeling in the world. That world may change and evolve, but the one that will never change — we’re all part of one big family,” as past scenes from Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, Avengers, and Black Panther play.
“That man next to you; he’s your brother,” Lee continues. “That woman over there; she’s your sister. We’re all part of one universe that moves ever upward and onward to greater glory.”
Then, the video dives into clips of its upcoming releases, including Black Widow and Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings. Notably, viewers get a brief first-look at Eternals, which shows all of the characters standing together and flashes a sword-yielding Angelina Jolie.
