LeBron James links up with designer Mimi Plange for a collaboration series of the LeBron 18 Low, as they look to diversify perspectives and connect various communities.

As James’ second female design collaboration, he continues his commitment to shed a light on those who are making a positive impact on the community. Plange comes in with a fresh look at African fashion and grabs the opportunity to blur the lines of various cultures with her four-part LeBron 18 Low collection.

“It’s amazing to shine a light where there hasn’t been enough light: bringing more voices into design. Having the space to speak a sense of self through design carries a lot of power,” Plange says.

The first design is an implant of a varsity letterman’s jacket that is an iconic symbol of high school sports culture. Plange fashioned the shoe in hues of mustard, burgundy, pink, and crimson, lined with letterman jacket-like striped cuffs along the foot. Patches of a basketball hoop, LeBron’s “Just a Kid from Akron” lettering, and a spirited lion mascot island around each shoe representing education and sports. She finished off with a fuzzy white Swoosh double outlined in burgundy and mustard.

Look out for the Mimi Plange x LeBron 18 Low “Higher Learning” colorway on June 2 via Plange’s official website and Nike SNKRS.
