Elon Musk Calls on Artists to Share "Awesome Graffiti" to Cover Tesla’s Gigafactory

Popular suggestions include Doge art.

Elon Musk and Tesla recently asked artists to submit examples of “awesome graffiti” that will be spotlighted at the new Gigafactory in Berlin. The factory is set to manufacture batteries, battery packs, and powertrains for Tesla’s electric vehicles and also build its Model Y vehicle.

The automaker plans to cover the factory’s concrete walls with varying types of street art. These works would seemingly be one of the latest additions to Tesla’s Model Y plant at Giga Berlin. “If you want to help cover Giga Berlin in awesome graffiti are, send us your work at GigaBerlinArt@Tesla.com,” the company tweeted recently.

Several folks in the Tesla community already responded to the tweet, sharing their own graffiti art samples including a work done by a drone operator, @GF4Tesla. Others chimed in with humorous suggestions such as Doge art and a pot-smoking Elon Musk work done by the notorious Australian artist, Lushsux.

Over the past year, Tesla had run-ins with environmental protesters over the construction of the Gigafactory — activists claim that trees have been wiped out and indigenous wildlife has been harmed for the project. Still, it seems construction work has been moving steadily at Tesla’s site which is roughly 20 miles southeast of the German capital.

Those interested in submitting their own examples of “awesome graffiti” should hit up GigaBerlinArt@Tesla.com.

In related news, Norway is fining Tesla customers $16,000 USD apiece for throttling battery charging speeds.
