A nod to Queen’s “Bohemian Rhapsody,” trashy LA ’90s tattoos and Kawaii culture are also must-cops.

Last week marked the final drop of Palace‘s Spring 2021 installment, and now we have a first look at the London stalwart’s Summer 2021 offering. Presented in a lookbook shot by Frank Lebon and starring the skateboard brand’s favorites such as Kyle Wilson, Lucien Clarke, and Charlie Birch, we see Palace has taken inspiration from a myriad of cultural melting pots this season, ranging from Queen’s iconic anthem “Bohemian Rhapsody” to the world of Kawaii, trashy LA ’90s tattoos in a sort of Ed Hardy-esque approach, and much more.

Standouts for Summer 2021 include the aforementioned “Bohemian Rhapsody” tribute T-shirt, which sees the Palace crew assemble in the quartet that defines the song’s legendary Bruce Gowers-directed music video. Elsewhere, the “Hippy Salute” needlepoint graphic of skeletons cheering with champagne produced by the artist Ben Sansbury has been applied to hoodies, shorts, and shirts, while the ’90s tattoos have been added to tops — most notably a football shirt with stamps reading “London,” “Truly Love Pints,” and the brand’s moniker.

Its usual roster of tracksuits also appears with Palace-branded piping, while more welcomed additions include a track long sleeve that’s wittingly adorned with “Palbro,” in the style and color palette of Marlboro’s branding. Rounding out the looks are pieces such as the “Infinity Palace” monogram stonewash denim jacket and jeans, “Gassy” vintage workwear-inspired shirts, and the reappearance of its “Finger Up” motif.

Of course, Palace also serves up the collaboration we’ve all been waiting for. As the headline teased, Summer 2021 also presents a collaboration with Crocs, taking on the Classic Clog. Palace describes it as being “Designed for your comfort and embellished for your enjoyment,” and we’re not disappointed. An all-over desert camo print is met with eleven Palace Jibbitz charms, making for undoubtedly this season’s must-have work from home footwear look.

Take a look at the Palace Summer 2021 lookbook above, and stay tuned for more information, as well as weekly drops, as the season unfolds. Drops will commence soon and will be available on the Palace website, through its stores globally, and on the Japanese website and its official “Palace_Skateboards” WeChat store.
