The spear was spotted with caution tape wrapping around the concrete area that was made to look like the Spear of Longinus struck the ground at high impact, leaving a pile of rubble. The spear is actually an extension of promotional installations for Evangelion: 3.0+1.0 Thrice Upon a Time. As the movie saw a substantial delay due to COVID-19, the Evangelion Tokyo Skytree Project decided to extend the activations as well as include a few new ones for the fans.
On top of this new attraction that’s free to see, the Tokyo Skytree will continue its thematic lighting based on the Unit-01, 00, 02, Mark.06, and Unit-08. Those in Toyko can witness the extended Evangelion Tokyo Skytree Project from now until May 31.
