As a member of the Jordan Brand hoops family, Rui Hachimura has been battling out in the hardwood this season in the Air Jordan 35. After the Jumpman team fashioned the Washington Wizards forward a trio of team-friendly offerings, it is now producing this “Hinamatsuri” PE that speaks to the Japanese holiday of Girls’ Day.

For context, Hinamatsuri is dedicated to celebrating and praying for the health and happiness of female children, and it is commemorated annually in March. It’s tradition that the Japanese people will exhibit their holiday spirit by laying out red carpet-like material to host an array of ornamental dolls that are symbolic of female leaders.

The color schemes of this court-ready installment overtly speaks to this theme as vivid shadings of orange line the mesh foundations and the overlays, the latter of which is decorated with tonal floral patterns throughout. Sock liners, shoe laces, mid-foot cables and the netting that runs down the throat and onto the toe boxes are all sprayed with a bold orange-red hue. Additionally, golden accents are sprawled to the tongues which don Hachimura‘s logo, as well as the forefoot which hosts Japanese characters.

Midsoles proceed with the vibrant theme as ribbed midsoles come splashed with orange, while the Eclipse plate is painted with a candy coated red. Outsoles bring together its look with glow-in-the-dark-like green skin.
