A very special Porsche has just been listed on RAD for Sale by LBI Limited. No, it is not a 911, but it is a very cool (and underrated) 22 of 39 1988 Porsche 994 Rothman’s Turbo Cup race car.
Each factory-built 944 Turbo Cup was lightened 600 pounds to prepare it for racing. Things like magnesium wheels, power-steering removal, a smaller alternator, wire reduction, a lighter intake manifold, and gutting of the interior were all part of its weight reduction process. What is more, the power was taken up to 300 horsepower from its stock 217hp.
This car features a roll cage, a fiberglass hood, 928 S4 brakes, a magnesium oil sump, a special “Turbo” tune, upgraded sway bars, a strut brace, an LSD, adjustable Bilstein coilovers, a RECARO bucket seat, and one of the coolest liveries of the series.
