Haven‘s in-house line has, since its inception, been demarcated by functional fabrics and cuts suitable for the everyday — its Spring/Summer 2021 collection is no different. High-tech textiles inform the effortless gear, which take to the streets of Haven’s native Canada in the boutique’s latest editorial.

Cutting-edge materials seen in this lineup include Polartec 100 insulation, breathable Coolmax blends, wind and water-resistant Stotz EtaProof and Schoeller Dryskin (a favorite of ACRONYM), a Swiss-made fabric that fights inclement weather without sacrificing breathability. Drawing from militaria, Haven’s latest informs a variety of rugged shapes with these textiles to great effect. For instance, overshirts and zippered jackets are made suitable for brisk spring climes with lightweight Polartec fleece, while EtaProof ensures that a series of BDU shirts and cargo pants are tough yet soft.

Throughout, the earth tones are complemented by a series of washed-out jersey layering pieces, like hoodies and sweaters, which are given a garment dye treatment to create a lived-in look. These wardrobe staples create an easygoing contrast to the more technical weatherproof jackets and sporty twill shorts without straying from the brand’s practical design ethos.

“We’re not trying to be loud about the details, like, it’s all under the hood, so to speak,” co-founder Arthur Chmielewski told HYPEBEAST in late 2019 of Haven’s in-house line. “We want to improve the kinds of products that people wear every day on the streets, take it to the next level. There’s this idea of a technical look that we usually stray from; our style is more about blending in. With our products, if you know craft, if you know quality, you’ll get it. There has to be a reason behind designing product.”

The first delivery of SS21 is available at HAVEN’s website and physical stores.

Elsewhere in Canada, Veilance launched its own Spring/Summer 2021 lineup.
