Square Enix Announces A Number of Exciting New FFVII-Based Games
Mobile games ‘The First Soldier,’ ‘Ever Crisis,’ and the PS5 ‘Intergrad’ with Yuffie Kisaragi.
This year’s State of Play Sony presentation saw big news in the Final Fantasy VII department. Set for a June 10 release date, a new Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade will be released. Not to be confused with the upcoming Part 2, Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade is a PS5 port of the first part (enhanced graphics, haptic feedback capability, faster loading times…etc) with the addition of a side “episode” featuring Yuffie Kisaragi. Those that played the first version of the remake on PS4 will be able to carry over save data to the PS5.
Square Enix‘s description reads: “In the brand-new episode featuring Yuffie, play as ninja Yuffie Kisaragi as she infiltrates the shadowy Shinra corporation to steal a powerful Materia and restore glory to her homeland. Play alongside new characters and enjoy an expanded gameplay experience featuring multiple new combat and gameplay additions.”
On top of this new port, several mobile games have also been announced including a battle royale style game called Final Fantasy 7: The First Soldier and the RPG Final Fantasy VII Ever Crisis. The later game will see the entire timeline of FFVII packed into a single game. Fans of FFVII can expect The First Soldier battle royale to drop sometime in 2021 while Ever Crisis will see a later 2022 release. Check out the previews below.
